Teenagers

This is the age when most children start to become self conscious about the appearance of their teeth. Young children are usually ready for orthodontic treatment once almost all their adult teeth have emerged in the mouth. This can vary between different children, starting from about 10 years of age onwards.

There is no limit as to what age orthodontic treatment can be started. However, the adolescent growth spurt can assist with some corrections and help the teeth move faster. Thus, this is the ideal age to commence orthodontic treatment.
